FAQS

Some helpful information for you

These FAQ questions are customer-focused, highly relevant and provide clear explanations. How long does it take to sew a mask? Do I need strong sewing skills to volunteer? Are these masks certified? with a clear explanation.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEW A MASK?

It takes 15-20 mins to sew one mask. Depending on your skill level the first few masks may take longer but it’ll be quicker once you get the hang of it.

DO I NEED STRONG SEWING SKILLS TO VOLUNTEER?

Basic sewing skills are sufficient as a starting point and with practise the quality of your sewing will improve. If you don’t have sewing skills, you can always volunteer to drive and coordinate.

I KNOW HOW TO SEW BUT DON’T HAVE THE SUPPLIES. CAN I STILL VOLUNTEER?

Yes! We can provide sewing kits with fabric, elastic and anything else you need.

ARE THESE MASKS CERTIFIED?

Our masks are not certified and users are to use their own discretion while using them. These face masks offer a top opening to insert an additional filter for more protection. Although all cleanliness measures are taken while making them, they must be washed before use.

WHERE ARE THESE MASKS DONATED?

Given that commercially available personal protective equipment is in short supply, our home-made masks are donated to essential frontline workers in retirement homes, hospitals, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other essential businesses. We have also donated masks to individuals at risk.

CAN I PROVIDE MONETARY DONATION?

This is a minimal cost initiative. While we are not actively seeking monetary donations, if you are really keen to contribute towards the purchase of supplies please send us an email at lovina.nepean@gmail.com and we’ll let you know when we will be doing our next run of supplies.
